Now, the Creative Part!
Directions
Dip sides and top of the shortbread rectangle into the melted yellow candy and smooth with table knife or tap on side of bowl until candy is smooth. Melted yellow candy will need to cover about ¾ of the cookie.
Place cookie on a wire rack with parchment underneath to catch excess candy drips.
Using clean food grade tweezers, place the two candy eyes a little below where the chicks “feathers” will go at top of the cookie.
Using the same tweezers, place the two orange confetti discs or stars in place below the eyes to form the chicks beak.
With tweezers, add orange stars or white flower sprinkles at the base of the yellow candy to form chicks feet.
Pour remaining yellow melted candy into a ziplock bag. Remelt in microwave first if necessary so candy is easy to pour and pipe. Snip the corner of the bag and pipe feathers at top of chick cookies and on both sides to form the wings.
